ENDURE: the TrainingPeaks Virtual alternative for riders who skip the 3D world
Thinking about switching? Here is how the two apps differ.
Updated
ENDURE is an alternative to TrainingPeaks Virtual for riders who want structured sessions and physiology without a virtual world. TrainingPeaks Virtual, formerly indieVelo, is a 3D riding platform with racing physics and a direct line to the TrainingPeaks calendar. ENDURE has no world to ride through. It runs the workout on your trainer and reads FTP, VO2max, lactate LT1/LT2 and CORE heat zones out of the ride.
Both apps run ERG workouts on a smart trainer. TrainingPeaks Virtual wraps them in a 3D world with drafting and racing, and pulls the day's session from a TrainingPeaks plan. ENDURE keeps the ride screen plain and puts the work into what it learns from each ride.

| Lactate LT1 / LT2 | In-ride logging + automatic threshold estimation | Not available |

Switching from TrainingPeaks Virtual? Here is what you keep
- Your trainer: ENDURE controls smart trainers over the Bluetooth standard FTMS in ERG and SIM mode, so the hardware stays.
- Your workouts: export a session from TrainingPeaks as a .ZWO, .MRC or .ERG file and ENDURE imports it. ENDURE exports its own workouts the same way.
- Your history: ENDURE syncs your Strava or intervals.icu rides on first launch, so earlier indoor and outdoor rides feed your FTP and VO2max trend from day one.
- Your hardware: ENDURE runs on the phone or tablet you already own. No desktop app, no 3D world to render.
Choose ENDURE if you…
- want FTP and VO2max to come from your rides without a test
- log lactate or ride with a CORE sensor
- want a plain ride screen on a phone
- track your training in Strava or intervals.icu rather than TrainingPeaks
- want an affordable subscription with 14 days free before you decide
Choose TrainingPeaks Virtual if you…
- race indoors and want physics with drafting and cornering
- are coached through TrainingPeaks and want the day's workout to arrive on its own
- already pay for TrainingPeaks Premium
Can you use both?
Yes. Race in TrainingPeaks Virtual and run interval sessions in ENDURE. If your rides land in Strava or intervals.icu, ENDURE pulls them in and every ride counts toward your FTP and VO2max trend, lactate thresholds and heat data.
Does ENDURE sync with TrainingPeaks?
No. ENDURE syncs with Strava and intervals.icu. If you plan in TrainingPeaks, export the workout as a .ZWO, .MRC or .ERG file and import it into ENDURE. Rides recorded in ENDURE reach TrainingPeaks through Strava if you have that connection set up there.
Does ENDURE have a virtual world or racing?
No. ENDURE shows the workout profile and your live data: power, heart rate, cadence and, if you log them, lactate and core temperature. There are no avatars, no drafting and no races.
What does ENDURE cost compared with TrainingPeaks Virtual?
ENDURE Premium is a subscription billed monthly or annually through the App Store or Google Play, priced at the low end of training apps, with 14 days free and no payment details. TrainingPeaks Virtual comes with a TrainingPeaks Premium subscription.
Does ENDURE need a desktop app?
No. ENDURE runs on iOS, Android and Windows, with the full feature set on a phone. There is no 3D world to render, so a phone or tablet is enough.
Try ENDURE free for 14 days on iOS, Android & Windows
